Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you accept insurance?

I am in-network with UHC, Aetna, Oxford, BCBS and Cigna as well as several other insurance panels. Please contact the office for more information about coverage with your specific insurance plan.

2. If I am already working with another provider, can we still meet?

Absolutely! I am happy to consult and collaborate with your long term provider around perinatal treatment plans. If you would like to transfer your care as part of preconception planning or perinatal care, I am also happy to work with your existing provider to provide a smooth transition of care.

3. What is the difference between a consult and ongoing medication management?

The goal of a consult is to provide treatment recommendations, often around whether to continue, adjust or change current medications in the perinatal period. Recommendations take into careful consideration your current symptoms, history and goal of optimizing your mental health and minimizing risks in current or future pregnancy and/or during lactation.

4. Do you offer therapy?

Unfortunately, at this time I do not have openings for psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is an important part of treatment and can be very helpful. I am happy to provide referrals to trusted therapists who specialize in perinatal mental health, as well as group support options.

5. Do you offer telehealth?

I am pleased to offer both virtual and in person appointments. Certain medications, which the Drug Enforcement Administration qualifies as controlled substances require an initial in person appointment. As telehealth evolves so do the laws and regulations mandating in person requirements, whenever possible I will work with you to provide care in the most comfortable and convenient way.
